Mr. Salvarage is back…
Today Mr. Salvarage showed up, sitting in a chair outside of the entrance to our rooms. He had come to ICSA to show us a poem that he wrote about Obama.

This is his poem.

The Hero Of Democracy
President-elect Barack
Broke race barrier rock
President-elect Obama
Spread irresistible aroma
First African American president
Best choice of Americans
A professor of law
Enthralled students and
Puzzled the faculty
Pushed the Mantra
“Yes we can”
“Yes you can”
Pulled the Tantra
“Yes you Have won”
Walking through White Street
Entered into The White House
Talking about Wall Street
Encouraged Main Street
Mesmerized the people
With your elegance
Eloquence and enthusiasm
Injected high hopes
And expectations in youth
With your message
No liberal America
No conservative American
No white American
No black American
No Latin American
No Asian American
Symbolizing one American
The United States Americans
The Hero of Democracy
Wish your Excellency,
The president elect of USA
For successful rule.

It seems like all the Indians LOVE Obama. Anyway, none of us wanted to talk to Mr. Selvarage when he showed up.  Reluctantly john, the girls and I all went out to talk to him. The conversation lasted about 45 minutes, and was completely one sided. Eventually both the girls found excuses to leave. After another 10 minutes john and I left to go to the tailor. During the conversation Mr. Salvarage also showed us his application letter for some government position that I believe is much like a state senator. However this person is appointed by the governor and not elected. The application was just a half page letter listing Mr. Salvarage’s degrees, saying that he was a Buddhist and that wanted the job.
Today we also visited the beach, went to a really upscale mall and saw avatar in 3D. We had basically the whole afternoon and evening to go out on our own. It was a blast, although Katie had a bad day and lost her phone. The boys had fun, and we are now pro at haggling with rickshaw drivers.
