30 Days left in India.
Today, I worked from 9-5 in a mosquito lab at VCRC. The lab I was in is involved in the upkeep of the Mosquito museum at the VCRC. They collect, pin identify and preserve mosquito specimens from all over India. As a result VCRC has a very impressive collection of mosquito specimens. They have collected adults and the larval skins of each mosquito. This process is incredibly tedious but the people doing the work are great! They are all extremely knowledgeable and friendly! It was great to work in this lab. Although all I got to do was sit at a microscope and learn how to identify different genus and species types of mosquitoes using traditional taxonomy. It was difficult to stay enthusiastic about mosquitoes for that long.
